Because we are part of a Christian tradition that lifts up the ministry of all people, we have a number of offices through which lay people can serve the church. One of these offices is the office of Elder.
Our Circle of Elders meets monthly (the first Tuesday of each month) to attend to the spiritual life and development of our congregation. As a part of their monthly meetings, Elders engage in ongoing study and training so that they will be ready to serve and lead in whatever situation may arise.
As a part of the day to day life of Hillside Christian Church, our Elders pray and/or preside at the Lord’s Table during our weekly celebration of communion. They also bring communion to sick and homebound members of the congregation.
