Congregational Meeting Items

There are 3 agenda items requiring votes for the 2020 Congregational Meeting: 2021 Budget, Revised Bylaws, & Congregational Leadership.

Budget:

The 2021 Budget, approved by the Stewardship Committee and the Board of Directors, is for $344,580. Notable changes include increased property insurance and building repairs and maintenance. Staffing remains the same from 2020. Projected revenues for 2021, based on pledged responses and giving trends indicates a decrease from 2020 giving, namely from decreases in Tithes and Offerings and Building Use (due to pandemic). Hillside was granted over $30,000 in CARES Act funding, but it is not reflected in our accounting records currently. Gym revenues go to the Kenney Fund for Children and Youth.

Constitution & Bylaws:

The Board of Directors’ special Bylaws Revision Committee took much of 2020 to consider changes to the congregations Constitution and Bylaws. The Draft Constitution and Bylaws was adopted by the Board of Directors and submitted to the congregation in mid-November for a 28-day review period. The revisions consist of language & formatting updates, inclusion of new clauses, and most significantly, combining the Constitution and the Bylaws documents into one document, to remove duplicate and contradictory language between the documents.
